Eat more protein foods. Serotonin is produced from the amino acid tryptophan, and it is found in large quantities in
bananas
nuts,
milk,
eggs,
poultry meat,
oysters.
Maintain a sleep schedule. To stabilize the work of the nervous system and avoid its overstrain, it is important to sleep 6-8 hours at about the same time in a well-ventilated, quiet and completely dark room.
Conduct physical activity. Daily exercise, home dancing to your favorite music and other moderate physical activity strengthen blood vessels and improve the transport of brain hormones, including serotonin.
Refuse psychostimulants. Coffee, tea, and other caffeine-based energy drinks cause dehydration, deplete the body's energy resources, and interfere with the healthy functioning of the nervous system. Instead of abusing tonic drinks, it is better to drink more plain water.
Limit info-noise. Constantly reading disturbing news and watching bright content on social networks overloads the nervous system and does not allow the brain to relax. Therefore, it is important to limit informational noise - at least to exclude it an hour before bedtime and the first 1-2 hours after waking up.
Eliminate uncertainty. Depressed mood is often associated with underlying anxiety. Its main reason is a sense of uncertainty. To get rid of it, you can write down restless thoughts and fears on paper, paint a possible outcome and a plan of action in each specific situation.
Take a mindful break. Rest is a work of restoring strength, but we often replace it with useless and harmful surrogates - social networks, scandalous TV shows, revision of our favorite TV shows.
